wow, this is posted late again. sorry, but i've got a nasty cold and since i'm not working today, slept in and then realized, OMG, the QOTD!
What is one of the top sweetest (take your breath away) things DH has ever done for you?
well, i know i'm lucky that i have such a sweet boy - he's often doing sweet things for me. this past birthday, he decided to make me a cake! if you knew him, you'd know that this is VERY unexpected. he was up until a few years ago a sanitation worker in the 5towns, he's this 'manly' boxer and avid football watcher...with his cute little queens accent... but he made me my favorite cake and made all these little fondant creatures - the theme was all my favorite things about our honeymoon..and he even made a little me, on a camel. it was incredible! and i was speechless!!!

Awww That cake looks GREAT. That was so awesome of him.
My DH is soo sweet all the time! He cooks for me, cleans for me, he buys me flowers on a regular basis, he buys me awesome stuff, and he is just THE BEST guy ever! But one of the sweetest sweetest things he did was for my birthday like 4 years ago. He took me on a bateux boat dinner cruise around NY and my bday is in Oct so it was a little chilly and while everyone was inside listening to the band....DH took me outside on the deck and he asked me to dance and we were right by the statue of liberty and it was just so romantic! It was like a movie scene. Then we got to my house and he had this HUGE Nordstrom box for me and it was a new coat that I had wanted. It was an AWESOME day.

The sweetest thing DH did was when we first started dating in college I had planned surprise parties for all of our friends and I was hoping he or someone would do the same for me and it was my 21st bday....he didnt say anything and I really thought it was going to happen and I got so pissed at him and all my friends for being dirt bags and I wouldnt speak to him...well I come in for one of my finals and he and everyone had decorated our offices and they had cakes and everything...we then went our to dinner with everyone and went to webster hall that night!!!! It was so sweet..he also gave me my first ring..diamond and sapphire that I wanted. It was a great surprise and I felt like the dirt bag since he had plans and wanted to surprise me...he told me from then on he would never surprise me cause I acted like a brat!!!!

Aww I LOVE that cake!!!!
He made me a scrapbook for our first Christmas together (and later used it to propose) but I've told that story like 20 times.
My other favorite thing was our first Valentine's Day together - it had been snowing all morning, but I got to work and there was a dozen roses and a giant heart shaped box filled with Hershey's kisses and all of these little heart shaped notes he cut out and wrote things on... he must have gotten up at like 5am to drive all the way to work in the snow to get it there. And then later in the day he brought another dozen roses over and gave me a ring.
Awww just thinking about it now makes me smile.

DH is generally not very sweet to me, but he has done some pretty sweet things for me in the past.
When he was doing his MBA, he sent me a powerpoint over aim that he named some benign title, and asked for my opinion on his presentation for class, and when I opened it it was a presentation on 'Why I Love Ali'
For our 3 year anniversary, he made me a photobook of our first 3 years.
And since I'm a gavon, sometimes he would show up at my house with canollis, or a blueberry muffin, or Wendy's, or Banana flying saucers, just because he knows I like them.

Honestly, I don't mean to sound like an azzhole, but DH is honestly the sweetest guy in the universe. There have been many, many times where he has done something out of the blue, for no reason other than to make me happy, and it's impossible for me to choose just one. So I will choose most recent.
We were at a party a few weeks ago that was supposed to be a big 'game night,' so the couple had set up their TV with all of the video game consoles they owned. I got around to playing Guitar Hero for the first time and I LOVED IT. I had a blast. So when we left, I planted what I thought was a seed for my birthday (in two months) so that DH would get that for me.
Yeah. It arrived at our doorstep the following Thursday night.
I couldn't believe him! I fully expected he'd take the idea and wait for my birthday to put it to use, but he said he was too excited and he just couldn't wait.

In general, DH doesn't do specific 'sweet' things for me -- he loves me dearly but he's not the type to buy me stuff out of the blue or anything. It was his idea to take me to Disney World for my 30th bday last year and that was super sweet. Every day when he puts his hand on my back and gently rubs it, he shows me more love than I've ever experienced in my life, and he's a darling.
But the sweetest thing I can think of that he did is he posted a photo he took of me on a forum for photographs because he thought it was a great portrait. It was really one of the sweetest things ever -- hard to explain.
I also think it's so so sweet when he sets pictures of us or of me as his computer background.
