~*~*~NWQOTD Christmas Edition 2010!!!~*~*~*
Just wanted to pop on here and wish everyone a very, very Merry Christmas! We had an amazing time last night, and we are headed to my parents' in a few minutes and then hosting our first Christmas at our house! Therefore, our question is: Do you prefer hosting or going to other houses for holidays?
I prefer to host. It's a lot of work, but so is traveling around all day. We used to make insane trips...once we did New York to 3 hours into PA and back...all on Christmas Day. It was a nightmare. I like to stay home and be able to see everyone all day.

I dont prefer one over the other... hosting has its advantages... of not having to drive and i try to clean up a little during so that im not swamped after people leave...but going somewhere is good too... you dont have to worry about clean up at all... and if youre bored or in a bad mood you can leave whenever you want....

Merry Christmas!!I've never hosted a holiday, but I don't think I would want to, mostly because if it snows and DH gets called into work alot of the prep. and cleanup would fall on me alone.

We have hosted holidays & have been invited out other years. We enjoy both. We love hosting but all the cooking & cleaning the day of is so stressful. Don't even get my started on the expense of it all & all the stress leading up to the holidays. We missed hosting this year but we are going to reconsider hosting so much in years to come. Our other issue is that we have a very small apartment & its hard for us to fit all of the people we have to invite.

It depends... I've done Thanksgiving for the past 3-4 years and I have to say it's too much work... I LOVE LOVE LOVE hosting Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I prefer to go to my parent's house.

I think I'd have to say hosting. We usually go to three different places n Chrismas. This year we hosted and had everyone here. It was a ton of work but my mom and sisters helped with a lot of the clean up. I sit here now in my nice clean house like I never had 16 people over tonight. The only evidence is the leftovers

I prefer hosting for 2 reasons. I enjoy all the cooking and preparing everything, but not so much the cleaning up.The 2nd reason I prefer to host is I am shy and when I host, I can get away with hiding in the kitchen or doing things and do not have to mingle as much as when I go to other people's houses and I have to socialize.
