nwqotd saturday jan 1

Happy new year everyone!! Get out the bloody mary mix n nurse that hangoverrrr

So I was thinkin this morning...its 2011...never again iin our daily lives (writing checks, letters, notes, etc) will we write 2010

Such a memorable year and now we are all a part of history. We can now all say we were married 'last year'

So...that means that its soon time to think of celebrating our one year anniversaries!!...I know some of us have talked about planning vacations n such...but the qotd is this....

How do u plan on celebrating that day? Any traditions u plan to uphold (eating the cake)? Or start (dinner at a special location? Go to church? Watch ur video? Hang w fam?)

Whatcha gonna go? Are u thinkin of exchaning gifts? If so, ideas please....

Re: nwqotd saturday jan 1

DH and I were just talking about this. We definitely want to watch our video. A week or so before, we're going to get a replica of our wedding cake - top tier. We're expecting our first baby in mid February, so he or she will only be 2.5 months at our anniversary. A vacay is prob not the best idea. Maybe dinner or a delayed vacation.

Re: nwqotd saturday jan 1

We are planning a little get away. Nothing too big just some time away just the two of us.

As far as the actual day goes we will make our annual trip to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, as we have done every April for the past 10 years & then out to dinner.

Re: nwqotd saturday jan 1

Our anniversary is in 2 weeks! It came so quickly!! Although DH and I are both so done with wedding stuff lol, I do wanna watch the video that was taken at our wedding. We didn't have a videographer and my sister's boyfriend at the time recorded all the major parts of the night and made us a dvd - we didn't even ask him to do that, so it was very nice. We plan on just spending the day together - not sure what we're gonna do, but I know we're going out to dinner at night. We can't afford a trip right now because DH had surgery not too long ago and the doctors bills keep rollinggg in! I def wanna go somewhere next year!

Re: nwqotd saturday jan 1

Neither of us can get vacation during our anniversary. I teach summer school and DH has difficulty getting off those weeks- so no getaways for our actual anniversarys.

We'll probably just end up going out to dinner each year, nothing extravagant.

Re: nwqotd saturday jan 1

We plan on traveling!! I am going to plan the whole thing and surprise him. He knows we'll be going away but not where. I'm thinking either France or Spain. I would love to do this every year until we have children. After that I'm sure we'll do dinners and exchange gifts.
