~~ NWQOTD Sunday, Nov 7, 2010 ~~
Good Morning everyone! I hope everyone had a good Saturday and enjoyed the extra hour of sleep last night
Last night, DH and I went to our friends' goodbye party. They are newlyweds and the guy found an amazing job in Switzerland. He accepted the job and now the two of them are moving in a few days.
Which made me and DH talk about it ....
if your DH had an amazing job opportunity in a different state or country, what would you do?
i think it really depends on the opportunity itself. I have a great job here so if i were to leave that, DH's potential job better be really amazing. It'd be hard to leave our families, but i would do it, depending on the situation. BUT, i'm not sure if i'd go forever and ever. I'd probably want to return at some point.
ps: if anybody wants to be the next NWOTW, please let me know (by FM)

I'd go. We just moved to Philly for DH's work, and we would love to scope out other parts of the country too! Same goes with me--DH said if a job opportunity ever comes up for me, he's more than happy to move.

I would let him do whatever he wanted, and if he wanted to move I'd go. We just moved 3K miles to California so I could go to school for 5 years. It's the least I could do to repay him for doing it for me.

We'd probably go. DH wants to leave NY eventually anyway (even though it'll probably never happen), and it would be SO much easier for me to get a great job outside of NY too since licensing requirements aren't them same outside.

It would be really hard for me to leave my friends and family so I would have to really think about it.

Re: ~~ NWQOTD Sunday, Nov 7, 2010 ~~
it would probably be hard for DH to find a job outside of a metropolitan city. so im not sure. maybe.but if it was easy or manageable, i would do it.
i moved to albany for a job opportunity and stayed there over 4 years before. and thats when i was single and knew NO ONE.

Depends on the opportunity and what opportunities there are for me there as well.As everyone else said, it would be really hard to leave my family and friends.

DH has asked me this before because his job has developers in England and Italy. He said we would go for a year or two. I told him I don't think I would be able to get a job there because I need to be licensed (RN), but if they paid for our living expenses then helllsss yea!Welcome New Vendors
