***NWQOTD - Tuesday 7/20***

Think back to 10 years ago. Remember when people said where would you like to be in 10 years? Are you where you thought you'd be???

For me, I thought I'd be married, with at least one kid, with a successful caree as an attorney.

Ok I'm married, but no kids yet (which I'm fine with). Never went to law school and am now a foster care social worker (hoping to move up in the agency soon). And I'm in the early stages of opening a business.

I definitely thought I'd be married, with a kid or one on the way, and working as a vet.

10 years later- 1 out of 3.

And I'll never be a vet, I've come to find out that I absolutely HATE biology.

10 years ago I wanted to be in show business, live in the city, and just book dance jobs and not have anything else really going on besides dance.

Then I grew out of that so I am so happy that I am still dancing but its not my whole life and that I have DH.

Ten years ago, I thought that by now I'd be working in the entertainment industry and live in the city. I didn't think I'd be married, but I did think I'd have pets. No kids. I had hoped that I'd see Pearl Jam more than the measly two times I had seen them by the early summer of 2000.

Now I'm working in the theatre industry, never lived in the city (but I lived on my own - no roommates - in a funky brownstone apartment for years in Queens), got married (shocker!), have three cats with DH, and no kids. Pearl Jam show count = 37.

Things are good!

Well, Im 27 now... so I remember saying that I wanted to be married by 25 (which actually did happen) and have first kid by 30 (still have some time left for that)... As for career, that still hasnt panned out.... that has become another 'by 30' goal

10 years ago i was very serious about music and thought i'd be doing that for a living. i also thought i'd be single forever and i didn't even bother thinking about kids. the music business wasn't the right path for me, but i did go to SUNY Fredonia, which was great because I was surrounded by wonderful musicians all the time. i think if my self 10 years younger saw myself today, i'd think i was a failure , but I'm actually very very happy with where I am now .

Im almost 27. Thought I would be married w/kids earlier but thats more than ok with me ! Im not in the career path I would have liked, we dont own a home yet, and no kids yet. But when I look at it we are still so young and have so much time for all of that to happen.

I didn't have many expectations...I thought I might be married, have a job and somewhere to live...thankfully I have those 3 things lol

Hmmm I'm kind of the oddball because 10 years ago I didn't have too many expectations expect I knew I'd want to have a career, which I do. That was easy to predict because I'm 31 now so 10 years ago I was about to start my senior year of college. So I was pretty sure I'd be in the finance field by now (unless I hated it and did something else). But I really wasn't sure if I'd be married by now. I always told myself I just want to be happy whether that means married or not. As it turns out, I got married anyway!

i'm married, i'm a lawyer, no kids yet, and in the process of buying a nice medium-sized house!

I can't think about this because it depresses me!

I'm married. At least I got that one out of the way.

10 years ago I was 15 years old, so I thought I'd either still be in school, or well in to my career making millions as a linguist

Never thought I'd be married this young. Never thought I'd even be seeing someone. Just didn't think it was in the cards for me because I was tortured so much in school that I thought I was a genetic freak or something lol. So I guess you can say I did better than what I thought, except for those elusive millions.
