NWR: Alaskan Cruises?

Has anyone been on one? Is there a best and worst time of year to take one?

I'm sitting here looking at one the week after DH's birthday in June.

Oh yes Chrissi! I went and there are like 6 albums on my Facebook page devoted to it!

It was INCREDIBLE! We went last September and we had an unbelievable time. We went with Princess Cruises.

They only run from April or May-end of September. We went the first week in September, which is 'rainy season,' but it wasn't too bad and much more affordable than going in the summertime.

Let me know if you have any questions - I highly recommend it!

How many nights was yours? I'm looking at 7 night cruises, is that enough time?

We have to go during the summer because of DH's work schedule and I'm figuring things out with my own as well.

Yes, we went on a seven night cruise from Seattle, stopping in Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and Victoria, BC. I think it's the most common itinerary; they call it the Inside Passage. That is the perfect amount of time, I think.

we did a 7 day carnival cruise for our honeymoon we left sept 9th flew into vancouver and left the following morning , it was amazing!!!! i cant say enough just be for warned you will probably be the youngest people on the boat and by 10pm the boat is kind of boring! but as long as you are together i know you guys will have a blast 7 days was plenty of time just plan for time when you get home to relax before going back to work.

if you any more info forum mail me, :)

This is what we did. I went in 2000 with my family. It was my graduation present. OMG it was AMAZING!

Anyways, we flew to Vancouver and stayed in the heart of Vancouver at the Radison hotel. We were there for two days and discovered the area- all truly very very nice. We saw these amazing gardens, took a ferry, explored Victoria and then after the two days, hopped on the cruise. The best excursion I remember were the logging ones and the coal mine. I LOVED Alaska. Truly a gorgeous place. We went in the end of June and the weather was perfect!

ETA: We cruised on Celebrity. Best in my opinion next to Princess.
