Re: nwr: broadway shows
Steve and I saw RENT and he absolutely HATED it (meanwhile I had seen it like 6 times and loved it every time!)
BUT... we saw Wicked and he LOVED IT! first of all, i was just thrilled because 'Blanche Deveroux' from Golden Girls (Rue McLanahan -- sorry if i butchered the spelling) was in it and i LOVE her! but he liked it because he could understand the plot more easily....

Phantom is also a really good show, it's based on the same book as Phantom of the Opera, and it may be more 'guyish' because it has pyrotechnics, LOL
It's playing at the Westchester Broadway Dinner Theatre right now.

DH loves the theatre, so I'm probabaly not the right person to ask , but we loved Avenue Q and I think that would be a great show for someone who really doesn't enjoy the theatre.

My DH hates musicals but he enjoyed Ave Q and Spamalot. We're going with my family to see Young Frankenstein this christmas, it looks awesome.

The only show DH & I have seen together was Rent. He isn't as absolutely in love with it as I am, but he sat through it & didn't complain when it was over. For him, that means he liked it.

Mine too! I feel lucky for that one. He does theatrical lighting as a hobby so we end up seeing lots of shows, mostly in off-broadway theatres, it has been awesome

Re: nwr: broadway shows
Wicked was our favorite, followed by Phantom and Mamma Mia. (Mamma Mia is more of a fun, non-dramatic show)

DH has liked several. He loves the Blue Man Group (he's seen them 3 times) He liked the producers and he talks about Tommy although I don't think that is still on Broadway.
