This is supposedly the hottest rave right now. Anyone hear about this or host a party for it? I heard about it recently but I am hearing it more and more. It is were you have a party and invite your friends. They bring their gold and get money, rather than spend and the host gets money for it. I was thinking about hosting a show for it but don't know if it would be worth it. It sounds weird. It is suppose to be strictly regulated. Opinions?

I went to one a few months ago and did pretty well -- I only had a few pieces and made about $500. My cousin was there and she made over $1200.
It was a fun night -- all the ladies, food, drinks. We had two people there and you went up two at a time. They went through what you brought, weighed it, etc and told you what you could get for it.
The hostess gets a small precent from what is made and they give you money towards food (at least the people we used did).

Thanks. I will. I am wondering if I can get people that would want to go, so it is worth it. I have done other shows and that is my business, but this is a new concept to me. I can really use money right now and I am sure a lot of other people can also.

That is what I was thinking. Our Physical Therapist said he has a friend that does it, I thought, wow that is weird. That was the first time I heard of it, about 2 weeks ago. Then Mon there was a big article in the Newsday. Then my boss said he made $1500 and that is how he paid for Christmas I feel like I want to try but I would need people to come to make it worthwhile. The good part is that you leave with more money than you came with DH can't get mad at that It is suppose to be regulated and state inspected, to the point where you need your license and they check to verify it is not stolen property, etc.

I have had stuff from the 80s, some which is broken and I was debating on the ex's wedding band and ring, or is that bad I may have a hard time parting with the stuff also but never wear any of it.
