NWR: Investing

DH & I are ready to start investing & saving for our future (house, kids..etc) ..and well - we're not well versed on this topic.

DH thinks that our best bet is to invest some $ in a mutual fund..He evenwent to speak to a financial manager at SCNB this morning about it.

Now I'm talkin to my mother about it and she thinks we're better off with CDs or money market account.

Any experts or semi experts out there? Can you give us any suggestions, advice?

1. i wouldnt invest in one thing only... spread it out to high and low risk things...

2. i recommend Fidelity...

CDs and MMAs pay NOTHING now so its basically like having your money in the bank. I like reits and mutual funds, they're low risk and you earn decent interest on them...
