...put on a burn?? I was checking on stuff in the toaster oven and when I was taking my hand out, one of my fingers accidentally hit one of the heating elements. It hurts like hell and I have it wrapped in a cool towel. TIA

Cold water and neosporin. I burned my arm on the iron the other night and put neosporin on it an dno pain and its slowly going away. it will also help with scarring. Or bacitracin either one will work

Re: NWR- What do you....
actually NOTHING.
your skin is already damaged, and even an antibiotic could add more insult to injury....
what should be done if you burn yourself in the kitchen is to run cool water on it for several minutes (not ice!) and then cover it with a bandage.... so it isn't exposed to any dirt.

aloe vera works great...if you have the plant in your house break off a leaf & apply the goo inside...otherwise the gel they sell for sunburns works too

this is true- putting anything on it after will trap heat in and cause a deeper burn. keeping it cool and then slightly covered is the best way to go.
