Re: NY Scrappers Group
Lisa, Thanks for the NY Scrap Group info!
There's a fabric store in or near Wantagh (I think) that has added a scrapping section. I'll try to get the info from my friend that lives near there.
I went to Scrapbook Central right before Easter and I was like a kid in a candy store. I had to control myself so I didnt spend too much. The ride from Queens wasn't too bad. I wouldn't want to do that every week but once in a while would be fine.

Re: NY Scrappers Group
Well, be prepared to be addicted!! LOL You will have so much fun!
Scrapbooking is an art form where you take pictures, letters, and other keepsakes and mount them in a photo album type book in an interesting way. Its a way to tell a story about the pictures. And its done in a 'safe' way. What I mean by safe is that the paper is acid free...therefore will not ruin your pictures over the years.
If you want to see some nice work check out this website.
I hope I answered your question and didnt just confuse you more!!

Re: NY Scrappers Group
It's basically a creative and more personal way to but pictures in an album. I always joke around with DH that I am 'preserving our memories'
You include journaling to describe the event or people in your pictures - which can include basic time and place info or more personal feelings about the person or experience.
You attach the pictures to cardstock or patterend paper and add embellishments like stickers, fiber, ribbons, etc to decorate the page.
www.twopeasinabucket.com and www.lifetimemoments.com have great galleries to see examples of different layouts.
I'm sure you'll have a good time.

Re: NY Scrappers Group
you've got my head spinning a bit about going
I have to see what the plans are for the weekend. DH & I are supposed to gtg with another couple on Sat. I go to a scrapping class with the wife and I was going to suggest inviting them to our place for scrapping and letting the boys do what ever the boys want to do. But now I'm thinking of seeing if she wants to go this place during the day and catch up with the boys later.
hmmmmmmmmm
