DH and I are going to see Jersey Boys on Broadway this Saturday and we are looking for someplace new to have dinner. We like to try someplace different everytime we go, I am just having trouble finding a place. A few places I have called are already booked and there was one place we went last time that was good but they are in the proces of relocating and are closed. We are open to any type of food in the somewhat moderate price range. Any suggestions?

Re: NYC Restaurants?
Do you want a restaurant just in the theater district or doesnt matter where?
Here are some around the theater district for now
Pietrasanta-great italian food
Plataforma-brazilian food-although their prices have gone up quite a bit.
Tony Dinapoli-family style italian
Bryant Park grill
Victor's cafe-Cuban

My fave restaurant in NYC is Piccolo Angolo, it's on Hudson and Jane down in the west village. Unbelieveable italian food and very low key. I know that area well because I worked there for awhile - other restaurants I liked were philip marie and markt, but i think markt closed ...

Thanks ladies for all of the suggestions. The theater district would be more convenient but we could take a cab anywhere so location really doesn't matter.

yeah youre probably better off then staying around the mid-town area. Downtown can get so hectic and so much traffic. The past year everytime ive gone downtown at night, i am sitting in so much traffic so youre better off not being THAT far, bc who knows how long the ride can take. Alot of places I like are downtown but in your situation i dont think its worth it to do that.
But you can go to other areas mid-town. Cabana-cuban food but wait can be long and they don't take reservations so not sure if you want to deal with this
Bar American-bobby flays restaurant
Houston's-its around lex and 54th street so not that far from where youre going.
Vagabondo's-great italian food and has bacci ball you can play inside lol

I love Aleo, on 20th between 5th and 6th. It is a cozy place with great Italian/Mediteranean food. Easy to get a cab up 6th Ave into the theater district.

Latanzie on Restaurant row is the best Italian food I have ever had (except for in Italy). The atmosphere is very romantic and authentic. Have fun!
