Im researching DJs for my friends wedding that Im planning for next fall in Maine. Holy cow cheesey horrible!!! I dunno what to do! They all look like something from the early 90's with like old equipment and bad lighting. Im gonna have to be beyond beyond specific with them. All the pics on their sites are like of people doing the chicken dance. And they are all one man shows. No MCs. Which Im sure will be fine, but there isn't even MC options anywhere! Oy!

OMG I'm sorry for laughing, I can't imagine the horror of trying to find a DJ that we're used to seeing around here.. I cant believe some people dont keep up with the technology, especially in their field.. Good luck!

there is one but he is $1100. Okay fine- bargain for us. But thats high for there. Like my sister had been quoted $800-900 when she was getting married. but ended up with a band.

i feel your pain, DH and i got married just north of albany and it was so hard to find good vendors, all the websites look like a little kid made them with pictures of their parents from the 80s and 90s....
that is if they even had websites....

Gina try some of the local radio stations and see if their DJ's do side jobs. My sister got married in NC and that is what she did and it worked out well!

thats a good idea. My dad knows them all, so he can ask around. But some of them are really not that great on the radio, so it could still be a lil bit hard...

Did you try theknot.com? I had a destination wedding in FL and found a LOT of cheesy DJs out there too. Thankfully girls on the knot had some good suggestions... There are different chat boards for every state....

Good Idea about the knot- I'll go on the chat thing there and see who people like.
These DJs are killing me. I heard back from a few, butthey wont give me quotes or tell em about their equipment. I dont get it. its a simple question. Throw me infront of a bus please....
