Secondly - I LOOOOOOOOOOVE me some Vegas! Ok, so how long is your stay in Vegas? If you stay at least 4 days, preferably 5, I'd recommend you take the day trip out to the Grand Canyon. When we went it was ALLLLL day (like 6am to 9pm) but it was sooooo worth it. If you're only staying in Vegas for 3 (to 4) days, maybe save it for another trip out there since there's so much to do in Vegas.
Shows wise, one that we saw that I would really recommend is 'O' by Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio. It was awesome. Also at the Bellagio, must see are the fountain shows (after 7 or 8pm they do them every 15 minutes, during the day they're further spaced apart). You can also get a great view of the fountain show from the top of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel across the street from the Bellagio. I believe it costs $12 to get up there, but the view was amazing - I've been up in the day and at night and personally prefer at night.
Go to the 'gardens' at the Bellagio - I forget the actual name, but they have a beautiful garden section on the first floor where they always do these amazing flower displays - in the shapes of things etc. I've been 4 different times and they are always so amazing.
I also highly recommend the Top of the World restaurant at the Stratosphere. The food has always been great and the view is wonderful too since the restaurant makes a full 360 degree turn every 1.5 hours.
Definitely go to the Palms. It's off the strip, but a quick cab ride away. It's a very hip, young hotel and they have great clubs/lounges. Rain was a great club and when I just went for my bach. party we went to the Playboy Club (lounge, very nice, NOT full of naked girls, sorry! lol) and then to Moon, the new club at the top of the new Fantasy Tower. Very nice.
The Wynn is a beautiful hotel. My DH's favorite hotel, however, is TheHOTEL at Mandalay Bay - this is separate from Mandalay Bay. TheHOTEL is an all suites tower of Mandalay Bay and it's very modern (dark wood, plasma tvs in the living room and master bath, half bath off the living room, wet bar, separate bedroom, etc etc). DH says he was spoiled at that hotel! lol.
Walk around all the hotels - they all have their own 'attractions' and cool things. Mandalay Bay has a Shark Reef (very nice aquarium), Mirage has a volcano eruption at night out front, they also have a dolphin habitat, TI (Treasure Island) has a pirate show out front, New York New York has an outdoor roller coaster, The Tropicana had the Titanic Exhibit, not sure if it's still there... hmmm, sooooo much else out there.
The Mirage breakfast/lunch buffet is REALLLLLLY good. I also heard the Paris one is great.
