Ok here's an I'm super bored at work question for you...

Can you remember any songs from when you were younger that you SWORE you knew the lyrics to, and later found out you were totally wrong? My trainer and I were talking about it this morning.

When I was little I used to swear that the words to 'Everytime you go away you take a piece of me with you' were 'you take a piece of meat with you.'

I was a fat child.

hilarious. I am sure there are plenty, even till this day I say things that I have no clue if it's right or not.

Sort of like that Aerosmith song 'love in an elevator' I used to think it was something weird like 'love in an el orator' lol like it was spanish or something. I feel like a retard lol

I also thought that AC/DC song 'Dirty Deeds' used to say 'Dirty Deeds and the Thunder Cheif'

I always wondered what a Thunder Chief was lol

In Like a Prayer by Madonna, there's a part that goes 'Let the Chorus Sing', at least I think that's the lyrics I never really found out the real words. Anyway, I used to sing laugh on coarsing because. I always knew it's not what they were saying but it's the only part of the song I couldn't figure out the words to no matter how many times I rewinded and fast-forwarded on my tape player.

I used to sit there with my cd player when I first got one, and with a pad and pencil , I would write down the lyrics as I heard them. If I missed something, I would go back over and over again until I got it right. That is how I learned the words to alot of songs. Apparently not to any AC/DC or Aerosmith songs though haha

I was pretty good with lyrics but an old friend always thought Cher's song 'Gypsys, Tramps and Theives', was 'Gypsys can't climp trees'

YES. The song 'Broken Wings' - the lyrics are:

Take these broken wings
and learn to fly again, learn to live so free
and when we hear the voices sing
the book of love will open up and let us in

well i though the last line was 'buffalo bill will open up and let us in.'

LOL Those are awesome.

Lets not even discuss what I thought all of the words were to la Isla Bonita...

I am still silly cause I still sing the ACDC song 'Dirty Deeds and the Thunder Cheif'!! I still dont know what they say!! LMAO

I forget who sings this: Black Crows
I also sing' Hey little thang let my light your candle cause mama iam sure of the henin nine yes iam!!! LMAO!!! What the hell a Henin Nine?? LOL!!

Correct lyrics:
Hey little thing let me light your candle
'Cause mama I'm sure hard to handle now
Yes around

yea, the black crows lyrics were a bit tough for me at first, and then I heard on 101.9 the 'cover me' session of that song, and the older version is much easier to understand lol

AC/DC songs are always going to be a bit tricky for some I think. I don't believe anyone who says they know all the words just by listening to it lol

I DID THAT TOO!! haha. Now you can just google the lyrics.

I used to always sing that Whitney Houston song 'I Have Nothing'. And I thought that she sang '..don't make me close one more door; I don't wanna hurt anymore' that she was actually saying 'I don't wanna HOLD IT anymore'. And I always sang it that way - always confused as to what she didn't wanna hold. I always kinda pictured her having to pee when she sang that one, not wanting to hold it anymore. lol. I was a strange child.
