Ok, need creative ideas for baby shower

Hi, guys,

Ok, so my Mom & I are having a baby shower for my sister in May. Anyone have some creative ideas for games we can play, favors, etc.?

For my sisters....

we bought the plastic babies and put them in ice trays and whoevers melted first at each table won a prize. it's a sick game but people are hysterical laughing b/c it's so disturbing.

We played the pacifier game:

Pacifier Necklace Baby Shower Game

Give each guest a cute pacifier necklace when they arrive and explain the rules to them. If you say 'BABY' and someone hears you, that person gets your pacifier necklace. At the end of the shower, the person with the most necklaces is the WINNER!!


Game variation: You can also play another way. Everyone watches to see if anyone crosses their arms or legs during the shower. The person that catches anyone doing that gets their pacifier necklace.

I bought the necklaces from some place online....they were cheap. I can't remember from where though.

We played another game.....we took Edward & Melissa (my sisters and husbands name) and from those letters....they had to make up baby names. Whoever had the most won a prize.

We also did a word scramble.

For Prizes....my Mom and I went to random stores and bought nice things. like $10 gifts but items that people will use.

For a favor- we just did cookies.

Here's an idea.....I went to my friends baby shower in July and they had a really cute game. They broke everyone into teams (we happened to be at tables of 5 or 6) They had tons of Family/Baby/Parent Magazines, construction paper and craft supplies. The teams had to cut out things from the magazines and paste to the construction paper and create what they thought that the baby would look like. It was really funny, the kids at the party also love it. The daddy was there and he got to choose the winner.....and they got a prize.

For my sister's baby shower, we had a guess the baby food flavor game.

We bout various jars of baby food, tagged the jars with a number and guests had to guess the flavor without opening the jars to taste or smell.
Sweet potatoes looks like carrots, peaches, apricots.

At a baby shower I wwent to, they made little favors out of carriage shaped boxes and filled them with sweet tart pacifiers and other little candy like jelly beans.

for games they did a cute one with giving every table a emasuring tape and every person ahd to guess how big the mother was around the middle. It got really hysterical. Like you weren't allowed to actually measure her-just guess. It got reallly funyn really fast. The mommy to be was cracking up like WHAT you think I am HOW many INCHES!!!

The person who geusses closest gets the prize.

They did baby bingo. Same as bridal shower bingo but you feel in the spaces with the things you think she will get-My MIL and I won cause re remembered the entire registry between us

Last Baby Shower I went to had the taste the baby food and guess it game- that was gross but people liked it.
We painted onesies.
They had a scrapbook to add parenting advice too.
And they had a 'how well do you know the couple' quiz that was cute. All stuff about when they were kids.

I went to a baby shower recently & here was the 'game' they played.

Someone thought it would be cute to smear baby food inside diapers. The 'dirty' diapers got passed around & you had to guess what food it was.

I'm not even kidding.

I like rubber duckie themes myself. I think it's so cute.

Also - not sure if this mother would be into it, but they sell belly casting kits & I think its SO nice. Wish I could have done it. You can paint it & hang it in the nursery.

I bought a TON of Rubber Ducky themed stuff for Ella's 1st birthday on Oriental trading.

Here are the favors and centerpieces I made for my Neice's baby shower..... we knew it was a boy obviously but you could adapt the same idea to a girl or do some of both...





For games we played Baby bingo, famous television moms and name that candy. If you need any more help let me know.

I have never been to a fun baby shower like these.......They are always so boring what fun games and ideas gals. I got nothin Helen Sorry

lol i just went to two baby showers - one was baby shower bingo of course...the other two:

name that baby food: we all passed around jars of baby food(labels peeled off & the jars were numbered)...we had a sheet & everyone had to write down which baby food they thought it was...u could smell & taste.

If the preggo's got a big belly, we played a game at my SIL's of how long you thought it would take for her to put on her shoes & tie them lol. It was really cute & really funny. We timed her while she did it, and then the closest person without going over won.

We did the belly measure game...guess how many inches around the belly is...BUT we waited untill her hubby got there at the end of the shower, and then did it again with how many inches around when they hug it was cute! They actually passed around a roll of balloon ribbon...and u cut ur strip of ribbon to how long u thought....then at the end whoevers measured up the closest on the measuring tape without going over won.

then last but not least they had the diaper game lol. different CHOCOLATE bars melted & smeared in the numbered diapers - we all had to smell, examine & some even tasted(not even kidding) to guess what kind of candy bars were in each diaper. If u have a humorous crowd its freakin' hilarious - but if u have people that are gonna be totally grossed out then dont do it lol.

i like the game mentioned above with the baby magazines & cutting out what the guests think the baby's gonna look like! that could be a lot of fun

OMG, Taryn, I love the Chocolate game!! That would be so hilarious because my sis lives for chocolate. I'll have to think about it though, because I can see some people being grossed out by it.

of course there were some that were like 'OMG THIS IS GROSS!' but that's what made it even more funny lol. i say go for it. odds are ur guests haven't played it yet - and it'll give ur sister a HUGE laugh! lol.
