It does requie you to enter the information and then it generates the appropriate forms or letters, which you mail along with copies of your marriage certificate. The only places you need to go in person are Social Security and DMV, as they require the original marriage certificate. After you send everything else, send your passport last, because you have to send them the original marriage certificate, which they send back along with your new updated passport.
It is a very thorough service and streamlined my name change on everything from credit cards, membership cards, bank accounts, loans and plenty of other things I did not even think of!
