Ok so would you get a little annoyed if...

You went out of your way trying to help plan a shower for someone and you were told it was a surprise shower. So you go out of your way doing things to try to keep it all a 'Secret'
Just to find out that the person knew about the shower the whole time and is the one who picked that date and did the invitations herself???

(If the topic even came up in front of this person she would play totally dumb and when my DH asked her if she knew when it was she lied right to his face!!! and then her mother blew up her spot )

Just looking for opinions

I would be totally annoyed and would feel like I was being played for a fool. Why pretend it's a secret if you already know about it. So silly.

I don't think I would. Surpisingly, because usually everything annoys me

But, come one...EVERYONE knows that they're going to have a bridal shower. Honestly, I am hoping for my baby shower I am able to help. My mom did a GREAT job for my bridal shower, but here were some things that I could have helped with- she had invites that were out of synch with the wedding colors, and didn't have enough, so she used 2 different sets. And, she hand-wrote 50 invites. I could have banged them out on the computer in 10 minutes.

But, once people realize that it's not a 'surpise' they get pissy and complain. So, I would also pretend to be surprised

I would be very annoyed! It's one thing to keep it a secret from the guests, but another to keep it from the people who are helping to plan it.

Omg I did not even think of it that way!!!

I am annoyed beyond belief and do not want to do ONE MORE thing for this person.
And to top it all off my MIL asked me if I would mind video-taping the shower.. if not the whole thing then at least the opening gifts part.
UMMMM NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ask one of her fricken bridesmaids who still think it is a suprise!!!!!

I dont know if I would be annoyed as much as think the people planning it are not too bright. Whats the point of pretending its a surprise and then telling you its not a suprrise? If they are going to keep that bit a secret, then dont tell anyone.

Well the bride still wont admit that she knows but her mother ( my mil) who is 'planning' the shower ( I am doing everything she is just footing the bill) felt bad for lying and admitted that her daughter knows everything.

No one else besides me, my mil, and the bride knows its not a surprise.

Honestly if it was said from the start ok its not going to be a suprise shower I could not care less. My cousins shower was not a suprise and no one cared. But to lie about it and pretend its a suprise is the part I am mad about.

Ew, the video?? Where is the MOH during all of this?? I wouldn't do the video. That's like, one of the crappiest jobs to have to do!!
