OK...I need help, touchy subject...

OK...I need help, touchy subject...

OK ladies, I need help - HONEST help please!

So my job threw me a wonderful surprise shower on May 13th. My last week day at work before the wedding was May 20th...we came back from the HM June 6th and I was back at work on the 8th. Fast forward to today, throughout all this, I have not sent out the TY cards I bought for my shower for the lovely gifts my co-workers gave me. I did my personal shower (from friends and family) right away, as I know etiquette dictates that shwer TY's be done immediately...but the work ones never got done. I even wrote them out and carry the cards with me now, but feel so guilty because it's been so darn long (married 2 months already!).
My question is, will it be silly to now hand them over to the people and say 'thanks' (of course I verbally thanked the day of the shower!)...

How would you feel?
Is there a way I could soften the blow so I don't feel like a total loser or an unnapreciative person?
Am I over thinking this?

I thought about buying a big Godiva basket filled with goodies and bringing it in and giving everyone their cards with an 'I'm sorry so late' note.

Or giving everyone their cards along with chocolate truffles in vellum bags like I did for my guests.

Any other ideas?

Sorry so long...I need help and honesty. This is a very corporate environment and I feel like a fool...the longer I wait, the worse I feel too!

Thanks!

I think giving each person some chocolate along with an apology for being late would be really nice. Im sure people will understand.

Give them the thank you cards! Maybe get them the small individual Godiva boxes and write 'sorry this is so late' on a little card?

definitely give them the thank you card and apologize for being tardy.

I would still send them a thank you card and write a little apology. The chocolates are a good idea, if you have the money. But, I don't think it is necessary to send them unless you are able to spend the money. People really will understand, as long as they receive a card.

If you didn't invite them to the wedding, how about giving them your wedding TYs (with picture)? This way, you don't have to explain the delay.

Thank you laides for your responses...I still feel guilty but a bit better!

lilacwine - that's what I was thinking as well, except that the wedding TY's might take another month and we don't socialize outside of work, so having a picture of me and my DH might not be something they 'get'...LOL. But I totally thought about this since it would explain the delay. That's why I was leaning toward the chocolate the same way it was presented to my guests, so they felt like they were a 'part' of the wedding.

Any thoughts on this ladies, should I do the married TY and an apology? I think at this point an apology is necessary anyway.

See, now I am BIG on sending TY's for everything, but frankly, I don't think you need to make a big deal about being late & apologizing - I think a heartfelt thank you will do!

The chocolates would be a nice touch if you are feeling guilty but again, I don't think necessary.

well maybe you duplicate a nice picture that wasn't taken professionaly (from a family member's camera) and use that instead, since its faster - just an idea.

Giving some sort of gift, i.e. chocolate is nice too, but may get pricey-IMO.

Or maybe bringing in donuts or bagles for the office might be better?

Or do you have any favors left over from the wedding maybe you can give to them?

Honestly, I think people know how it is coming down from all the wedding planning, the honeymoon and just getting adjusted to being married. I think giving them the cards will be fine. You may be over-analyzing this a bit.

You girls are so helpful. Thank you! Yes, I will give them the cards with the Lindt truffles (they're cheap online, at least). Thanks for helping me, this is something only you guys could understand.

Blu-ize (love the name BTW) thanks for bringing me down to reality...I too thought I was starting to over analize. Nothing worse than guilt over TY cards...LOL.

Now, on to the wedding ones...
