here goes- first time I am saying this out loud ...(except to my hubby)
WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!!!!!
I'm about 7 weeks along- and in my family the tradition is that you dont tell so early but I cant wait. I am also REALLY NERVOUS-
My ob-gyn center is in bklyn and the midwives/dr are affliated with Methodist Hospital and Lutheran Hospital- both too far from Long beach.
Does that mean I have to switch doctors?
I hear a LOT of good things about Winthrop and I think Good SAM.
Advice?
I am not telling anyone here at work. I am not sure how to handle it. But I am wearing larger clothes so it isnt noticable- and Im not showing yet. Mornings are quesy time
Advice?

Congratulations!!!
I know how you feel. I couldn't wait to tell everyone!!!
I didn't make my announcement at work until I was 3 months along, but I did tell the one co-worker that I share a work space with. I was sooo tired and quesy ALL THE TIME, that I needed someone to know.
My doctor is part of a group(Women's Contemporary Care) in Mineola. They are affiliated with Winthrop and I am very happy there.

advice & best wishes
Congratulations!!!!! How wonderful!! LOL When we found out, we couldn`t stop telling people (family & friends) despite hearing that many people wait till 3 months and little fears. It`s such exciting news, it`s hard to contain within.
I told my boss privately at about 8 weeks. I did b/c I although I didn`t have full blown morning sickness, I would be queasy & dizzy in the AM. If it starts to become a problem where you feel like you are getting sick in the AM and it`s affecting your getting to work on time or seeming erratic, you may want to consider it. I guess it depends on your job & situation.
We are having the baby at Winthrop and are definitely impressed with the place. My OB is in Garden City, let me know if you want the name. My GYN was not an OB so I had to switch but it worked out great, I got an OB I am really comfortable with who came highly recommended.
Best wishes to you & your hubby. It`s definitely exciting, all consuming. Since you are in the First trimester, I`m sure you are feeling tired too. Make sure you don`t push yourself too much, it`s not like being non-pregnant tired, you need to honor what your body is telling you. Believe me when I say there is a groove in the couch cushions in the permanent shape of my rear from coming home and couching it for a few weeks there. :p My hubby swears that he would come home and find me in the same exact position as the night before and the night before.
Get a book or two (OK, I got 4). Of course there is 'What to expect when you are expecting' which is great but I also recommend 'Your pregnancy week by week' and the 'Pregnancy for dummies' book. The week by week is fun to see where the baby`s at each week and the Dummies book covers alot of info. Also there are tons of informative websites. I like epregnancy.com, there`s also a great message board there.
Congrats again on your baby-to-be. I`m sure you will get all the advice you need and more as you share your news.

OKOKOK - I can`t hold back anymore!!!!
CONGRATS PHYL !!!
Welcome to the mommy-to-be club !
I know how you feel not being able to hold it in, we told the family at 6weeks. (we even heard the heartbeat at 6weeks !!)
How are you feeling ? Dont worry about the big clothes yet or having trouble hiding it at work. Although everyone is very different with showing, and I CANT WAIT to show, I am 18 weeks (4months) along and not showing at all. My belly is starting to feel hard and taking shape but not popping out yet :(!
So how are you feeling ? Take it very easy the first trimester, dont over-exert yourself, get lots of rest, and enjoy being in a bliss :)
One great book I was just told about is called BABY BARGAINS, it is basically a consumer reports type book on ALL ALL ALL baby products, and it is written totally based on feedback from moms all over the world, whats a good buy and whats not, what not to waste money on, etc etc. whereas CR is more 'test and standards results'. You can get this book on Amazon, it is very HIGHLY talked about. I have been fliping through it for a week straight already.
VERY informative and resourceful. They also have an affiliated website
babybargainsbook.com. The authors are a husband and wife team.
Feel free to ask any questions !
So when are you due, Xmas time ?
Again, Congrats and best wishes to you and hubby !
TUMMY PATS !

thanks so much ladies- I'll need your help
...I am sure. It is a happy but scary time. Don't know what it is- maybe that's it!!
Bought What to expect when ur expect...and what to expect in the 1st year. Will pick up the other books mentioned.
Morning queasyness is a BIG drag.been able to keep it to myself so far.
Work will be a bit diffcult since duing our squeeze times we are here until 9 or 1pm ( with no $$ for any work past 5pm). Cant do much about it- that is the world of advertising- if u complain ..it isnt good for your career- may others looking for work- not many jobs out there.
Good thing is that my boss is only in the office 3 days a week...but in time I will have to let her know- and the 3 other managers here that I am close to.
Holding the news under wraps until our annoucement on mothers day. WE have a First Communion Party that SAt in PA and we were spending the weekend up there with his parents. So, the full house on sat willbe ideal to share our news.
Tough part willbe this weekend- a girls onyl weekend with his mom and sis- out in Allentown. Hopefully I can still keep it under wraps...I REALLY want to surprise his mom- She'll be SO happy!!
i just wish my mom and dad were here..oh boy- here come the tears. Take care ladies!
Due date is DEC 21St!!!!

I so feel for you when you say you wish your parents were here. Although my father passed away years ago, my Mother is very much alive and I am so grateful for that. I know it`s not the same as having your parents here, but they do live on through your baby. You can take the things you loved about your childhood - memories of events & traditions and things that your parents taught you - and pass them onto your baby.
Best wishes!
