OMG I had to get my kids from school !! ( guy with gun )

After I got my kids off to school I went to 7-11 for coffee and there was a helicopter flying around and around well my friend turns on channel 12 news and there was a man with a gun on the loose It happened at walmart which is right next to my house !! They had Wardmelville and the other schools on lockdown so I went and got my kids !! I was too nervous to leave them there ! And the principle acted like an Arse to me and the other mothers like we were overreacting they didnt even shut the front doors to the school

I wish my daughters school took these precautions !!

OMG that is so scary but thank god you got them out of there.

That principle is insane, and should be expected parents would do this. I hate when they dont take things more seriously and think that instead of taking chances to send everyone home.

by her reaction she would've either not dont it or waited a while. Which is horrible bc she knows parents will see it on the news and im sure parents would like to hear it from the school.

Exactly !! And its not right b/c we should be notified and it should be our decision to take our kids home if we choose to

That is crazy and scary. Thank God your kids are home safe and sound with you. How upsetting must it be to those parents that have no clue about any of this and are not informed by the school.

I can not believe that they did not even lock down the doors of the school

My friend and I called our friends with children there and they also took them out !! But I also feel real bad for those parents that wont know till later

OMG, thats scary, especially bc the school door where still open,


i would of done the same thing, by taking them out of school, maybe the principal needs a kick in the head,they should be taking every safety precaution to protect the children in that school. And surely not give any parents a hard time about removing there children for the day

She kept saying in her calm voice that her superior ( dont remeber who ) said that everything was ok not to panic and blah blah blah I understand she doesnt want panic to break out but whatever

What the hell?! They still h ad the school door open?? I would be furious and parents SHOULD be notified of something like this. Its not like we havent lived through a Columbine or Virginia Tech hell. They should take immediate action if something like this is reported. And then the principal has the audacity to treat the parents like theyre crazy? Does she/he have kids?!

So what if it was a carjacking. What if they guy ran into the OPEN school doors to hide from cops or something. She would have done the same thing had it been her kids.

yikes! good for you picking them up! how is that overreacting? its called being safe! not locking the front doors?? something kinda like this happened at my elementary school when i was there. a man robbed a bank or two in our town and when cops got on his trail, he pulled into our school parking lot! he was armed. the cops couldnt get him to get out of the car or anything, he was making demands. but they had the school locked down, we all had to get on the ground, make our way to the gym in the back of the school and eventually sneak out the back way where parents and buses got us out of there. it was very scary. im glad you got your kids out of there! never know what can happen.

OMG! Thankfully you got your kids safely!

That is just incredibly scary!
