omg to my ILs!!!!!

we live on the same property as my inlaws, but in a different house (they have a large property on the water and built us our house) and my MIL has this gazebo that she puts up every year, and somehow it gets destroyed and she needs to buy a new one...every year. so before we lived here, it was right outside my living room window, which was fine bc this was just construction. but she insists on putting there again, which now its uncomfortable to me, bc she can hear everything we are saying or doing(which is going to put a damper on my TTC efforts this summer)..and the most annoying to me: if the blinds are open, she can see right inside my living room and bathroom. and im annoyed! she has a huge (for LI standards) piece of property, on the water and she can't find another gd place to put the effing gazebo. its so annoying!

I Know how you feel my inlaws have a huge house, and actually gave us a 'wing' to live in...but still MIL was always meddling in, after she got a sense we wanted to be left alone, she decided she should build a cottage on the property....

We didnt let her, we knew she'd come knocking on the door all the time, since we'd be a few feet away.

Anyways.... Im assuming ur MIL will only be using the gazebo during the 3 summer months right? How often does she sit outside? ...and more importantly what does DH feel about it.... Since its her property I guess she feels she can put the gazebo wherever...which stinks

Just close the blinds..and turn the AC (assuming you have a window one) too block out noise and her sight

Ugg totally stinks. Why dont you just speak with her & let her know how you feel. Just say it kind of feels weird that they will be right outside your window. Be honest but super sweet & see what is said. While it is soooo wonderful they built a home for you they should realize that it is your home. Not theirs. Also this is kind of why i always think sometimes its ebtter to be a mile or two or three away. lol lol lol Good luck
