on the knife topic...

How, how often do you sharpen your kitchen knives...I feel like some of mine are dull already...

any suggestions?

Our set came with a sharpening steel so I usually sharpen them every other time I use them. I would love to find a place that sharpens professionally but I haven't had time to do that.

every other time christine? no wonder my knives are dull!!!!

we have a sharpening tool as well...but i never know if I am doing it right...

It's a habit I got from watching my father. When I was a kid I thought it was cool (because he wouldn't let me touch the big knives)

Just make sure you do both sides of the blade and you're fine.

Christine thats a big difference from m y childhood where my fathe r(who got it from my grandmother) would take the knife (blade out) and rub it on our shoulder and yell 'Una Una Una' (I have no idea what that means!!!)

and my grandmother actually did the wrong side one and clipped someones neck!!!!

(yep - a few swipes on each side and then I rinse the blade off)
