On the note of MIL
Let me start by saying my MIL has good intentions she would do whatever she can to help you. However, she also keeps in filed away in her head for later use against you.
DH has had many a talk about the way she talks to me when she thinks noone is listening, and it doesn't seem to do any good. Then she has the nerve to turn around and ask me if I have a problem with her?! Always when FIL is around never DH.
Mother's Day was a huge war with DH and her because she couldn't understand why he would want to spend time with my mother and why she couldn't have him the whole day to do her bidding ie planting and cleaning.
The holidays don't work well in general, my mom comes to christmas but his family gets together for every and I do mean every holiday/birthday etc. All my mom asks for is Thanksgiving to have DH and I at her house for dinner.
She lately hasn't been as bad but she makes me uncomfortable whenever shes around due to her past history. She calls DH about 10 times a day with stupid crap, and won't call the house number just in case I pick up.
She does call me though, usually asking where DH is cause he isn't answering his phone, or when were coming over for dinner. We can't go to the fire house without her showing up, or hang out at dunkin donuts for a bit either.
I just want to slap her into reality and try to make her realize that the world doesn't revolve around her, but she doesn't seem to get it.
I can't ignore her or hide from her but I don't know what to do anymore. We just can't seem to get her to understand.
