opinions needed Apt search

Fh and I are looking for an apt now. We have some leads. Here is my dilemna. Our wedding is Sept 6.

We will be gone half of the month. So Fh is thinking maybe we should not move in until October so we do not waste rent on the Apt in September.

So for about 2 weeks I would have to live in his basemant apt in his parents house. I really do not want to do this, but I would for only a week or two.

Thoughts????

We got our apt in April and didn't move in until almost June, because our wedding was May 31st. The money wasn't wasted to us because it made it so much easier to have a lot of time to move things over, furnish the place, and have it set up for when we got home. Honestly, I would have hated to have to come home from the honeymoon and jump right into that much work...and it's always a lot of work moving! We still had a lot to do after we got home from the honeymoon, I couldn't imagine having to do it all from scratch.

I'd take it sooner rather than later...I don't think you'll regret it.

I would go with getting a place beforehand...

we were thinking of living in DH's aunts basement for a few months before we moved to CA...but then when we were sitting down there with the door closed...someone came in without knocking...at that point I said no way...

I already decided that I would rather have the apt sooner than later. Fh is always thinking of other solutions.
