Overkill

Dear Sweet Peas Early Childhood Development School (a.k.a. glorified Day Care),

Ok, listen, I get that you are a 'school' and how lucky I am to have my baby there. I understand that you need to justify your ridiculous prices with incredible landscaping & feeding only organic food. I know there is a 2 year waiting list to get into your 'school'.

But do I really need to take the morning off work on Jan 30th for a parent/teacher conference? My kid is 10 months old. She sh!ts her pants & chokes on Cheerios. She eats feathers from the couch cushions. What exactly would you like to discuss? Her future? Her progress? Don't we talk about that EVERY day when I pick her up? You send me home with a 2 page progress report every day telling me what she ate & when, when she napped, what time you changed her diaper AND the contents of the diaper. (Not kidding) Plus DH & I berate you for details on how she did. Yes, I want her to go to Brown or Harvard, but first, teach the kid how to walk. Then I'll take off work to listen to what you have to say.

ETA: crazy that for an infant they want you in early but later on when they are in school they want you to come to the school and sit for hours to wait to meet with them for 5 minutes just to say your child is doing great
