Ovulation related question...

Okay so I was on Loestrin 24 FE for about three years until this December. I stopped it to try to regulate my periods for a while before we start trying. My first month was great - got my period on time. Now my cycles are like 36-40 days apart!

Anyway, I know some people know they're ovulating just based on how they feel. My mom says, 'you just know, you just feel different.' Umm okay I have noooooooooo clue when I'm ovulating or even when I'm about to get my period.


So I guess I'm asking - do you girls 'know' when you're ovulating (besides temping or using OPKs)...does your body 'tell' you. If so, can you tell me what it tells you. OR does anyone feel like me and not have these symptoms of ovulation? I wish I knew what to look for!

We're not TTC yet but soon...

Sometimes I get vague period-like cramps and when I calculate where I am in my cycle (pretty much right in the middle) I figure I'm ovulating. I know that I can't attribute them to getting my period because it's too early in the cycle for those kinds of cramps!

Is it definitive? No. Doesn't even happen every month ... but that's just my experience!

I use to be able to feel it...before i started the pill over 5 years ago...
yeah i would feel it on the left side, and then the next day it would be on the other side...i have no clue if it was me ovulating, but it seemed about the time that i should be...

but i just got off and im clueless!!!
and i was soo use to not paying attention to my cycle that i completely forgot to pay attention to when i stopped, and when i 'should' get AF.

i thought i felt it a little a few weeks ago, but ive been kinda crampy the whole time, so im soo unsure!

I absolutely feel it. I was on the pill FOREVER! 20 years to be exact so I didn't know what to expect when I went off it.

About mid-month I get cramping low in my tummy for a day or two. As far as knowing when AF is coming, I can definitely tell that too because I get pain in my lower back and top of my thighs.

I sometimes feel it but not enough to know. . the rest might be more info than you want but you'll see I've been reading a LOT. .we're about reading to start trying and between my age and NEVER being home bc of travel job I am so on this bc I need to PLAN vacation days. . lol

Depends on your cycle. . know i've been watching mine and do use strips to indicate as well as a few more graphic ways which I'm happy to FM you about but not put here. . average is 12-15 days in your cycle .some people ovulate twice, many people who do this usually drop an egg on the 8th day. . other indicators are supposed to be. more active sex dreams.. this def happens to me and I had no idea why until I read it a few places. . about once a month I would have these dreams about other guys ( no one I knew) and thought it was weird until i read that's a sign of ovulation so phew I don't have to get divorced. and I do tend to be more 'in the mood' then. .

but it's good to know bc depending upon your cycle you can have anywhere from literally six hours to three days of fertility so knowing can be important. . good news is little swimmers can live in your body for 3 days so window gets bigger.

OMG!! i didnt know that!! i have had 2 dreams like that this week!!!!!!! one was last night!! the one a few nights ago i had a dream that i was about to cheat on DH with robert pattinson! LOL and i was soo tempted to do it cuz he was on my celebrity list thats ok to do if you got the chance!!! but i woke up feeling so guilty!! i dont remember the one i had last night, but lets just say it wasnt with dh!!! eeekks!

i have really bad periods...i can skip a month but m usually ike 35-40 days...horrible cramps,nausea,back and boob pain..u nameit i get it

have always been like this..was never on bc

i dont know if this helps lol dont think it does lol

And to answer the question, nope, I'm clueless... I can never even figure out when I'm supposed to get my period, since it's usually around every 23 days but sometimes (like last month) it was 32.

i know!! all my celebrity boyfriends! its hard to keep up! maybe last nights was about Lee??!! lol

I too always know. U sometimes feel a twinge or a quick pain. But nothing serious.

Some women tend to get a clear discharge right before. So if thats what you thought was a sign before your period its also an ovulaton sign.

Other then that i just go to the baby ovulaton calculator & put the start of my last period date & it tells you when you are supossed ovulate.

before i was on the pill i could actually feel my ovaries ovualting and it would be on opposittes sides every month - since the pill nothing so idk how it would be when i get off

i know some people who can tell and others who think we are crazy

For me, I get very very light cramping... Also, discharge should be 'slippery'- watery almost etc .... Helps the little swimmers move better ....
