Im with you. I have to go for an MRI on a cyst and im freaking out!!! I just googled it too. I cant believe they wont let you get the scan!? I have cigna and im still waiting to hear back from them. Insurance *****!!! Why do we have to pay so much for them to deny us!?
They denied me 3 times for my tonsilectomy. I was put in the hospital for 4 days b/c I had a tonsil infection SO badly that it was spreading through my entire body. But that was NOT a good enough reason to remove them from my body
My doctor fought for me and they finally accepted it. I hate insurance companies
Do you have Oxford Liberty or Oxford Freedom? If it's Liberty, they are a lot more strict. Have your doctor fight that. Eventually they'll have to approve it.

He did argue with the Radiology Dept at Oxford and the guy was a total jerk!

They are telling me I cant go for more than 4 PT sessions b/c there's not enough medical reason or whatever to justify it. Well, tomorrow makes my 4th one and then my PT has to write them and say I need more.

Its unreal!!!! Why do we bother paying for insurance then!??!?
I took an appeal for my mom all the way in front of an administrative judge, because Oxford would not allow her to have a PET scan. I lost, but at least I tried.
