def agree w/ the suggestions of brown or green. the shade of green in that picture look perfect actually! anything neutral really. gray is okay - but i think something w/ a lil more oomph may be better.

what about blues, have you looked at behrs website? They have awesome paint its the only one we will use. We just bought a yellow for the kitchen :)

our living room flows into our dining room, its all one big room, so we have it all the same color, its a mocha color but one wall in the dining room is red

If I ever have a formal dining room I'd want to do a deep burgundy or this color called Italiano Rose, I think it was Benjamin Moore. Either would look great with a white chair rail.

I'm in love with that grayish purple color....i saw a picture of a room painted that color of LIF a few months ago I'm hoping DH will let me paint some of the rooms in our new apartment...

What about a nice slate blue?
That's what I am doing my dining room.
you can do slate blue and white... or slate blue and another shade of blue or a whie/blue color.
Slate blue looks great with, white, black, dark brown.

yeah thats the problem...i have no idea what color it is! i just googled blue dining rooms and that picture came up! it doesnt say a color name or anything
