Passport Amendment (name change)

I just went to do this today. Please be sure to read the instructions (I didn't, as usual) b/c there is NO charge for amending the passport, and the address to send it isn't the address to send passport renewals.
I bought a $145 money order at the PO because I am get my passport amendment expedited ($60) and normally it's $85 for the renewal but the guy thought that amendments were the same price. Not until I looked at the instructions to put the address did I see that it's free to get it amended At least he refunded me the money, that was nice of him.

It didn't cost me anything to get it amended. I just filled out the form and sent it in. I got in back in about a month.
