Passport help!

DH & I have never had passports. We booked a trip to California / Lake Tahoe & a Baja Mexico Cruise for our 1 year anniversay this summer 2007.

When should we start the whole passport process?

Where do you get one?

You first should go grab the application guide from your near-by PO. Look the entire application over step by step and fill it out.

I needed my birth certificate and a photo ID to verify my name, date of birth, and residence in US. I got it in 1999.

I went to AAA to get my photos taken for the passport - you need these before you can submit your application.

As for cost - i think it's $65 for renewal, but I could be wrong. And it takes about 2-4 months to come in.
