passport question

DH and I are planning a quick 5 day caribbean getaway. I haven't changed my name on my passport yet. Would it be alright to book the ticket in my maiden name and show passport as proof of ID or do they check more than that?

they will check just your passport as your proof of ID. so you should be okay, but just be careful, becuase if you lose your passport while on vacation you might have a problem, since officially your US govt documentation now has you with your married name.

Re: passport question

the only thing that matters is that the name on the ticket and the name on the ID matches. You could have your name listed as Maggie Poopy Pants and they won't care.

I recently went to Canada (by air) and all they wanted to see was passport & ticket.

Only problem may be....what your CC says - that also has to match when booking the ticket.

since being married i've left the country twice--and i have yet to change my passport--i just make sure i tell the TA to book in my maiden name.

you only need your passport as a proof of ID -- so just book in the maiden name that is on your passport

nah---it actually isn't a big deal at all.

cause i booked my tickets with my CC when i traveled to DR--and my CC is in my married name and my passport in my maiden.

the CC doesn't really matter--cause someone could be buying the tickets for you -- and the card could be in a totally different name--its what the Traveler information says that is priority #1

Re: passport question

I have been traveling a bunch of places with my passport as my maiden name. Your ticket must match your passport so you have to book your ticket with your maiden name. My sister actually brings her marriage certificate in case she needs it, but they never care to look at it.
