PASSPORT QUESTION

My coworker is giving me a hard time because we're going to Cayman on a company trip and I don't want to change my passport.

I just want to make sure I can still travel with my marriage cert. and my old passport. The ticket is in my married name and I have Driver's Licenses in both my married and maiden name.

Any input would be helpful. Thanks Ladies!

HEY HOW ARE YOU???

When are you going? If you have time, I would change it. I still have my old passport but am booking int'l travel in maiden name to be safe.

Hey Jenn!! I'm good- just busy. I hardly ever get time to come on anymore

We're traveling in mid March so I have time, but I don't want to get there and get denied or jsut have extra problems so I might just get it. I just heard that the new passports have chips in them for tracking....not too keen on that one!

Re: PASSPORT QUESTION

My friend has a huge problem with this. We all had to go with out her. Her passport-Maiden last name, Ticket-Married, Lic-Both. We had to leave her at the airport and she came down the next day b/c she had to go get a certified copy of her marr lic. If you bring it with you I am sure you will be fine. Good luck!

Re: PASSPORT QUESTION

I wouldnt do it. If the name on the ticket doesnt match your passport its chancy. You may have an easier time in the US but once your out of the country you dont want to get stuck....

ETA: Can you change the name of your ticket? That would work.

This is exactly what I want to avoid....

Re: PASSPORT QUESTION

Hey I would definitely call the airline first and see what they require.

Next I would consider getting a new passport but do it asap...even with rush ship (extra charge) - it is still like 2-4 weeks. Fill the form out online and hope/pray that it is all ok! GOOD LUCK and have fun!

Re: PASSPORT QUESTION

The passport site says its about 3 weeks from the date of the application so I'm still in a good place. I'm gonna call the US Travel passport dept phone # when I get out today to confirm. I'm honestly just being cheap- I really would like to avoid the $60+ to change my name

I thought it was $75 actually and more to rush ship??

Also are you going to the Cayman Islands? If so that is a nice company trip! I need to come work there!

Re: PASSPORT QUESTION

I am wondering about this as well... DH and I are planning a cruise in April and I haven't changed my passport yet. Since it was issued more than a year ago, I'd have to pay the original fee again (which totals $100) and I just don't want to do that! So, if I book the trip in my maiden name, I will be fine right? I still have a valid driver's license w/ my maiden name and my passport w/ my maiden name.

Re: PASSPORT QUESTION

I called the US Gov Passport # and they told me to change it. If all of my docs were in my maiden name (tix, drivers lic and passport) but since i booked the tix in my married name, if I want to travel under that name, I have to change it.

bummer

You're right Jenn- it is $75. The $60 is to rush

Yea I know- we went to Costa Rica last year and Vegas the year before....ITS AWESOME!!!

The coolest part is the trips are usually around our anniversary so if we wanted to make this our 'anniversary trip' and save the $$ we totally could!
