Patrick Swazye

All signs point to the cancer-stricken actor preparing for his final days as he recently boarded the private jet he owns with his wife Lisa Niemi, mother Patsy (in black hat and glasses) and a pet poodle. They were headed to Patrick’s expansive New Mexico ranch, where he has reportedly planned to spend his last remaining days basking in the beauty and serenity.
Despite looking very thin and with visible patches of hairless scalp, Swayze seemed to be in great spirits as he joked with airport staff, smoked cigarettes, packed the plane with several personal possessions, and laughed with an unidentified woman, before hugging her goodbye.
After public appearances where his sorrow-filled eyes revealed the pain and exhaustion of his relentless fight with pancreatic cancer, the 56-year-old star was light on his feet and noticeably upbeat at the Van Nuys Airport, suggesting his contented decision to call his 17 000-acre New Mexico ranch, where he has referred to as heaven on earth, as a final resting place.
The progressively gaunt and fragile-looking actor had not attended his weekly visit to Cedars-Sinai hospital last Friday, confirming recent reports that he has stopped receiving medical treatment in efforts to halt the pain and suffering his chemotherapy treatments have caused him.
A family friend has told reporters that “there’s nothing more doctors can do for him. We are down to the wire and the goal now is to keep Patrick comfortable. His condition is inoperable and they have stopped the chemo. He’s still losing weight and he’s very weak.” The friend added: “Patrick regards himself as a cowboy, and is determined to die with his boots on and no regrets.”
Time will tell if the resilient Mr. Swayze will resurface publicly again, but his legacy and positive impact will have an everlasting effect!
