Isn't it only pot stirring if its not TRUE? That is, wouldn't an 'oooh, interesting point' have been more um, appropriate?

Not necessarily, pot stirring is when a 'NEW' (or old depending on the poster) comment is made that riles the crowd up again....BUT you used a double negative and Im not even teacher....so of course now Im confused
