Did you try the strength training compenent of the Self Challenge yet?
I did it this morning. It was definitely more challenging than it looks. I did it twice through b/c didn't think one set would be enough for me. But right off the bat with that alphabet one, my legs were burning.

I guess it also depends how heavy the weights are, but definitely felt the burn. I used 8 & 10 pounders. I also added a few extra reps to some of the easier ones, like the crunches b/c 10 felt way too low.
Let me know how the interval running goes. Gonna do that tomorrow.

Will do! yay we can be support buddies. Even online I find that if I know I am 'working out' with someone, I tend to keep to it better.

Yay! Me too! I need someone to report to.
Are you adding extra cardio to the routine? I usually do more than 3 cardio workouts.

Yea I try to do cardio 4-5 times a week..TRY! :lol' Its hard on the weekends because DH never wants to go to the gym anymore and I have to rely on him to drive me so its a pain to get him motivated to get up and going. So ive been doing cardio 3-4 times a week lately.

what I TRY to do is 1/2 hour in the morning of cardio and in the afternoon, 1/2 of weight training. I was doing diff body parts but now Im going to try the Self thing to change it up.

I ahve to say from doing the running and cylcing from the alst challenge, I FINALLy ahve the teeeniest bit of definition in my calves whch is a problem spot for me so I am THRILLED!

Good! I unfortunately have massive calves from years of dance (almost impossible to find boots to fit my calves).
I usually get in 4 cardios, though strive for 5. I belong to my office gym, which is in NYC and only open during the work week. Had a treadmill at home, but it died last month. Hopefully we get a replacement soon. DH is a runner but not very consistent in his training. I usually do Tae Bo or my Urban Rebounding (the mini trampoline) on the weekends at home.

Re: peteysbride

I have NO calves. I would love to have those shapely curvy legs some women have-I LIKE muscle on women. But I just ahev straight up and down legs

I LOVEDUrban Rebounding but it hurt my feet-I have really flat feet so my arches would cramp up. But it was soo much fun when I belonged to my old gym. You have a gym at work? thats AWESOME. II belong to NYSC.

Oh I did the running thing today but only 15 minutes because I took a weight trainign class. O M G!!!!! Its SOOO HARD!!!!

I did this one below:
-----
Workout 2: Fight stubborn flab
Watch that pudge finally budge. This sweat session combines short, high-intensity bursts of activity with recovery periods, which means you can work harder for longer—and torch big-time fat and calories in a flash.

TRY IT Warm up for 5 minutes at level 4 or 5. Go faster for 2 minutes, working at level 6 or 7; then recover for 4 minutes at your slower pace. Repeat the entire 6-minute cycle twice for a total of 3 times. Cool down for 2 minutes at level 3 or 4.

Calories burned 99 (for walking) to 271 (for jogging)*

Make it harder Up the intensity of your go-faster bursts to an 8 or a 9.

Make it easier Adjust your intervals to 1 minute burst, 5 minutes recovery. Hang in there, hot stuff!
---

I started at level 6 because I was doing less time, then went to level 8 for two minuets and barely managed. I did it for 15 minutes and thought I would die. REALLY hard but my legs are burnign so its good! GOODBYE chubbies!

8! That's tough. I think that's the one I'll do tomorrow.
Yeah there's a private gym in my building...it's only slightly cheaper than NYSC and Crunch, but convenient....All a big conspiracy to keep us in the office longer
