Re: photographers
I can only speak of two that you mention - Mark Kaufman and Patken. Their styles are very, very different. Have you visited them yet? The way I'd define the difference is that Mark Kaufman focuses more on candids, and the albums come across more as an observation of the day. Patkens albums seemed more formally posed, with a bit more of a sensual tone to the couple shots. With Patken, you may be asked by the photographer to lie on top of your groom for a photo, or have pictures of him kissing your neck. With Mark Kaufman, you would only get those pictures if you happened to decide to lie on the ground on your own. Recently I've seem some mixed reviews about Patken on the boards. Mark Kaufman gets mixed reviews for his sales style, but consistently positive reviews for photos.

Re: photographers
I have to speak on behalf of Patken. We had them, and LOVED them. It depends on the photographer you use. I used Steve, and I like that his poses were more contemporary. His poses were great, I have so many compliments about my album. I wanted something different rather the ordinary poses side by side. But he does wahatever you tell them.
