How many pictures do you have in your album? Is 50 enough? Should I go for 60? AND Did your pics need to be cosmetically retouched, meaning, did a blemish or imperfection show? And if so, is this something that is usually included in the price of a package. The photographer I am thinking about using assures me that with the professional lighting and equipment, my skin will look flawless. I am not so sure I buy this. I thought album photos were usually airbrushed for perfection. AND Is cropping of photos for the album and enlargements usually included in the package price? Thanks for all your input.

Re: Photography question...again!
Everyone here probably has a different range of pictures in their album depending on who they went with and what price range they paid. I think our package has like 30 pictures and they will arrange them in the album that we selected. They will size them for us.

Re: Photography question...again!
I havent done my album but I wont be retouching my photos.
Shutterfly isnt working right now for me but if it were I could show you a pro photo of me vs. a amatuer one. The amatuer one shows my blotchy skin and would need to be retouched, the pro one doesnt show that.

My contract includes re-touching of exit signs and flashbacks in mirrors, but any other editing would cost us more $$$. It's really not needed though - our pics came out really nice. (only in a few do we have our eyes closed, you can't do much about that anyway!)

We got 60 pictures in our package and upped it to 64, when we picked up out our album. No re-touching ... at least that I was aware of!

Loved Mark Kauffman (Mark, Roy and Jackie were my photographers). They did a great job. I have my album appt. on Saturday. So I can let you know how that goes. Editted to say: I agree with Claudine about drawing the line somewhere. I have to do that on Saturday. I cannot have 3 albums, so I just have to do a lot of picking and chosing and remember that I will have my proofs to make another album with.

Re: Photography question...again!
The only re-touching that we did for our album was if there was a mark or imperfection in the proof...but, nothing was re-touched in terms of faces or anything. For example, in our entrance to the reception shot - there was a black mark on my gown (in the proof). They made sure to correct if on the album copy.
We have approx. 75 pics in our album, and I would have loved to add even more, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

Re: Photography question...again!
I have VERY fair skin that gets blotchy and was worried about how it would look in pictures but you will be surprised how much professional lighting helps. My face looked so clear.
However, we haven't done our album yet and when we do my only concern is the blotches on my neck and chest. I am so fair that when I get nervous I get red blotches all over neck/chest. The lighting helped alot but you can still notice them so I will have to ask them to touch it up.
As far as the number of pictures, our contract is for 80 but I am sure I will add a few.

I have 45, and thought that was plenty.

Re: Photography question...again!
We went with 73 pics in our album...sheesh! It is costing us a small fortune. 50 could be enough...we just could not narrow down further.
We probably will not need ours touched. Our photog will charge extra. To make our photos B&W is no charge. To make them B&W and then re-color certain parts like flowers is $40 per picture.

Re: Photography question...again!
We had only 36 in our album and added a few which I think came to 40 pictures. We really wanted to spend most of our money on enlargements rather than the album.

Re: Photography question...again!
Our package came with I think 35 and that wasn't nearly enough so we added, which made me mad. If I picked out 35 pics, I would have had to leave out the important pics and we only got maybe 200 proofs, I can't imagine if I had more. I do agree with Cindy though, I would rather spend the money on the enlargements since those are displayed constantly. You will eventually put your album away...

Re: Photography question...again!
That is how we felt Stac. People are going to look at the potraits you have out on display more than your album. It was just a decision me and DH made. Even though certain vendors dont agree with that, I believe it should be a personal decision for each couple.

Re: Photography question...again!
Our pkg came with 30 or 40 pix...totally impossible we ended up with 92 pix, many composites. No touch ups was necessary. We had to add 6 exta pages to our album.
my contract had 36 (never had a clue...how many great shots I would want in)...I ended up with 63...
but stacey and cindy make a good point...about enlargements...
most photographers charge for airbrushing...my sister used to airbrush weddingphotos and family portraits...and it is a lot of work and time consuming matching up colors...
I like b/w pictures...everyone looks goodin them...
