I have it but got it from a co-worker...I got Picasa2 off google for free & it is just as good

Depends on what you want it for.
It's obviously the program of choice for people who use it professionally, but if you just want to do a little amateur editing to things, i'm sure there are other programs that will serve your purpose and are cheaper.

I am using Photoshop CS2 to design my album, I wouldn't trade it for any other program, but I've been using photoshop for a good couple years and am just used to the way it works... but I'm able to do some nice things with it that I think will be fantastic when I finish my album :)
