Photoshop fun...again!

This time, I've got the full version (6.0) instead of Elements...so, I now know the true *magic* of the history tool that everyone has been speaking about....I'm going to go shopping for a book on Photoshop soon, so I can use this in a more sophisticated manner....but, just having some fun to start...

Changed this:

And this:

Also, I'm trying to decide if I like adding color to B&W, or adding B&W to color....it's an experimental process.

Claud those are beautiful....wow!!! You can change the flowers to different colors in the invite bo-k pix instead of the colors that they are now

That cake of yours looks pretty wild.
I also had bride/groom bears on my card table, and another pair that someone made, and placed it on my gift table.

Re: Photoshop fun...again!

I am using Photoshop 7.0 and this is how I play with pics like the ones above.
Start with a COLOR picture.

Open the picture and choose LAYER in the Tool Options bar on the top of the screen and choose NEW and then 'Layer from Background.

Rename the layer whatever you want.

Then go to the IMAGE pull-down menu to find ADJUSTMENTS and then click on HUE/SATURATION. (Shortcut CTRL+U)

In the HUE/SATURATION dialog box bring the Saturation of the picture down until the picture is B&W.

In the toolbox (on the right of the screen) choose the HISTORY BRUSH TOOL by right-clicking on the 5th tool from the top on the right-side of the toolbox.

You can adjust the diameter of the brush by clicking on the BRUSH drop-down menu on the top of the screen.

Increase the side of the picture by going to the NAVIGATOR palette on the right-hand side of the page and move the triangle to the right. (It makes filling in the picture a little easier).

Hold down the left-mouse button and drag the brush over the parts you want to recolor and then save the picture as a .jpeg.

Then you are done! (I probably made it sound a lot more difficult than it really is)

If you want me to do one of your pics just forum mail me and I'd be happy to try.
