Thanks everyone! I don't really see the resemblence with my sister - maybe b/c she's a stick! LOL She's SOOO thin and I'm SOO Not

Spel - that's hysterical! I guess it's a popular picture taking spot

I had heard mixed things about Providence, but still thought there would be more to see and do. They have this fire thing on the river which must be nice to see at night, but it's only on the weekends I think. They have a huge Italian section, so we went there for lunch, which was delicious!!

We did visit one of the castles in Newport (that's where they all are) we first did the cliff walk, well, part of it at least. That's where you see many of the great castles, overlooking the ocean. We went into the Breaker's one, which was owned by the Vanderbilts. Thinking about their lifestyle in that day and age is just astonishing. No one, including Bill Gates, is that rich anymore - it's just overwhelming when you really think about it.

What's amazing, is that these castles were actually their SUMMER COTTAGES! 70 room homes, cottages?! Crazy! A cottage is a 2 bdrm bungalo on the beach... LOL

IF any of you are going to be in RI---FM me....I live in RI@! I can tell you the places to go and things to do!! Providence is a Renaissance City, the city is really shaping up to be a beautiful place...its just taken a while and a lot of TLC>>..the thing with the fires on the river is called Waterfires. Its absolutely amazing---and its FREE!! You watch the big bonfires in the riverm and te gondolas riding by....its very romantic!! The italian Neighborhood is Federal Hill----We dubb it Little Italy;...its very cute and quaint and has THE BEST restaurants.....there is also a HUGE mall if you are inot that...3 floors, about 7 restaurants...a whole days worth of shopping!!!!
