Can anyone reccomend a place for a 60th Bday
party? My max budget is I would say $35 p/p. I would say we'll have 45-60 people, depending on who comes...
I was thinking of renting a room (any Knights of Columbus in Suffolk ?) or a small/reasonable restaurant with maybe dance floor/room to socialize. I've gone to parties where you just sit and eat and thats it. I'd rather make it 'a nite out' type party...
Its a suprise for my MIL. I plan to do it in May.
Any ideas or suggestions would be great !
Location - no preference. The family is spread out among Queens, Nassau and Suffolk. Nassau maybe be best since most of them are in Queens.
Thanks!
Wishing you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!

place for a 60th Bday ?
There is a place on Jericho Turnpike in Westbury called Papparazzi. My husband & I went there for an event and they have a private room which had it`s own bar, dance floor, DJ booth, coat check. I have no idea what it cost pp but it may be worth looking at, it was pretty nice, spacious too.

Irish Coffee Pub
We used them for our rehearsal dinner, and I absolutely loved the place. The room was charming, and the food and service were great. They`re in Suffolk County, in East Islip on Carleton Avenue. Pricewise, I believe we paid $26pp, but from what I recall, that didn`t include drinks, tax or gratuity. But I could be wrong. They have several different rooms there, and the Banquet Manager, I believe his name is Fred, was so accomodating. Definitely make sure you talk to him, or even Brian Higgins. The first time I called to inquire about having our rehearsal there, a woman really didn`t seem to want my business. We were a small party for a Friday night, but I was offering deals I couldn`t believe she was flat-out refusing. I had offered to pay her whatever they said their minimum was for the smallest room, no matter how short we were. Turned out when I talked to the Banquet Manager, he was fine with out party size, and booked it for us without hesitation. Brian helped us with the details when we went in for contract signing, and later with the menu selection. He was very professionl.

place for a 60th Bday ?
Try Pompei. They have two locations one in Elmont and the other in ValleyStream they give good value for your money and the rooms are nice sizes.
My shower was the one in Elmont and now we are hosting my Mom's B'day party there. The food is good and they have a a system to play music on or you can bring in a dj.
Check it out and good luck planning.

How about these places ?
I just did some surfing for party places.
Does anyone know of these places (good, bad ?)
-Captain Bill's in Bay Shore
-Cucina Bay in Merrick
-Allison Rose cruiseboat (how successful is that idea for a party ? I always think that people are going to be left behind !!!)
Im just trying to see if I can get a cute/cozy waterfront thing for my budget. ($30p/p max).
Thanks ladies !
Anna
PS - Laura - does that place have a website ? Is Oceanside far out ? I dont know all of LI that well yet !
Im in Suffolk but most of my family is in Queens...
thanks again !

How about these places ? Capt Bills
They have good food and service, nice atmosphere. My cousin used them for her daughters communion. We were in the main builing, the room had water views and a small deck. She had a buffet served that had more than enough for our large Italian family.

Laura...
Hi! Hope you`re all settled into your new home!
When you have a chance, could you let me know what kind of a deal you got for your mom`s party? I`m in the throes of planning my husband`s *surprise* 40th and I would much prefer a restaurant over a VFW type setting.
We`ll have about 50-60 people on a Friday or Saturday night.
Thanks so much!

THe house is great thanks for asking--we are in the midst of our first snow storm-- we are at about 8-10 inches right now (I am home playing hooky--for no reason--the hubby got out fine!!) but i stayed home to do stuff for Mom's party-- we got a great in Oceanside Alias Smith and Jones--we decided on brunch because of kids being involved-- but their dinner menu looks like this
Buffet $21.95 plus tax and grat($2 more for Sat night)-choos 5 hot dishes, 2 carving, includes 2 salds, bread, coffe tea, cake or ice cream-plus you need to add drinks--unlimited soda (3.95 p/p) unlimited draft beer, soda , wine(8.95 p/p), unlimited draft beer, soda , wine, top shelf (14.95 p/p)
and the sit down has 2 packages
A 21.95 plus tax grat and $2 for sat night
or B 29.95 plus all the same stuff--
Hope this gives you an idea--
