those places you guys said for the birthday party are great but any ideas for a christening? i was going to look into anthonys in ronkonkoma but i am basically at a loss for any other places. our church is in bohemia so any where close by would be good. any suggestions? also any thoughts on if we should have alcohol? i don't think beer or wine would be bad but maybe a full bar would be too much especially since it would be during the day and it is a christening. help????

I don't know of any place where your Church is but as for the liquor beer and wine in very appropriate. Usually a full bar is not done for day parties.
How old is the baby.
Congratulations.

she is about 9 weeks now and we are having her christened in February so she will have her 1st shots done(since there will be alot of other babies at the church). I went to Anthonys today and it was a bust. They can't even seat 50 people and we are probably going to have about 70-90 people (my husband has a large extended family!) So my search goes on. I think after the new year I will go to the Irish Coffee Pub and see how that works out!
Happy New Year everyone!

Beck--
we always do beer and wine for christenings but you have to do what is comfortable for you and your families--
as for places-- I am not sure that far out but the irish coffee pub is good--
good luck searching

Beck - I dont think you need to do open bar since it is during the day. Beer/wine is usually more than enough. At my sisters shower a few ladies ordered drinks that were added to our tab (which i thought was rude!) but anyhow i guess thats the best way to handle it (whoever does order drinks, you pay for those only and not open bar per person...)
Our restaurants also told us to please feel free to take any unopened wine home, so a few of our guests did just that! Since we paid per bottle. (it was cheaper than unlimited wine, and being that it was all ladies, we went with that option).
Have you decided on a place ? I dont know many places out east. I am in suffolk now, but i grew up in Queens, I am more familiar with Queens/Nassau.
