Did anybody feel bad after the wedding was over? I got so used to planning the wedding being part of my life that it actually feels weird not having all the running around to do. Is this common???

I've been having withdrawals since the day after the wedding!!! I've only been married since August 31! You're definitely not the only one.

Cindy, First, I want to say that your photos are gorgeous! Verdi did a wonderful job!
Second, I can't say that I had much time to get wedding withdrawals after my wedding...I became pregnant 2 and 1/2 months after the big day, so I had a new baby to plan for!
However, I do remember feeling quite 'down' after my cousin's wedding almost 4 years ago. She was the first one of my generation to marry, and our entire family was anticipating her wedding for nearly two years.
I agree with shamma - find a hobby that you can focus your energy on, b/c it will save your sanity. Congratulations and best wishes to you!

Re: Planning withdrawels....
No planning withdrawals here ... I am so glad to have a happy memory of the day I planned. It feels great to have a little more normalcy in my life! But I really did think I would miss all the planning! But my life is a bit hectic anyway with school and now buying a house! I guess I'm always looking for something to plan and don't even realize it!

Re: Planning withdrawels....
I do have withdrawals, I was very sad that it was all over, even though it was stressful at times, but I have to say....coming on here and helping others plan, makes me feel so much better

Diane, I felt the same way. It was very stressful for me at times and yet I felt very sad too that it was over. I guess the planning is such a big part of your life that you actually miss it. Good luck to you!

Re: Planning withdrawels....
I don't think it's over until the thank yous, album and video are done. Because we are on this side of the board, I guess some of us still enjoy the process.
Cindy: BTW, your photos are gorgeous.

Re: Planning withdrawels....
We will decide by tonight:
I know the ceremony portion is going to be 'Going to the Chapel'
The photo montage is going to be 'Thru the years by Kenny Rogers'
We are going to have our first dance song somewhere in there
We are also going to use What a wonderful world by Ray Charles
I think we are missing one more song...I will let the hubby choose. I think the re-cap is going to be to Natalie Cole ' This will be an everlasting love'
Have you done your album and your video???

Re: Planning withdrawels....
Shamma: Congrats on getting the thank yous done. I like you music selection so far
When I asked for suggestions earlier it was for brother and SIL who got married in August. My brother had no interest in choosing songs, so I was helping her. We thought we had it all last night, but when she spoke to the editor, we realized we needed a song for the receiving line segment.
As for me, I am waiting for my album because I procrastinated for almost a year on choosing my pictures. I added and substracted so much that everyone was completely disgusted, including my hubby. I figured I have to be happy with the selection so I took my time, or maybe I just wanted to prolong the process

Re: Planning withdrawels....
I thought I would be in withdrawl after the wedding....but wasn't...planning a wedding consumes your life and you don't even realize it till it's over! I can't tell you how relieved I was to not have to think about it anymore. I remember the first day of our honeymoon....laying on the beach chair and just sitting...nothing to decide - no regrets, the best day of our life went perfect - best feeling ever!
