Plans for tax refunds...

Do you and DH have plans on how to use your refunds...or do you just save the money?

Last year of course it went right to the wedding. This year we are debating saving the money...or maybe buying some additional furniture.

Just curious what others do.

i used my tax refund to pay for balance of wedding- hall. got money 2 days before hall $ was due.. talk about perfect timing. my husband is putting towards his credit card- we put honeymoon on there... next year its going towards house fund! i know - how boring!

We use ours every year for some sort of home improvement project. Not sure what project it's going to be this year yet.

we will find out tomorrow how much (if any!) we are getting

but hope to save half and use half for some of the 'home improvements' we need!

we are using part of it for a 6-month anniversary cruise. woo-hoo!!!! we didn't think we would be able to plan any vacation this year, but we got an awesome deal on a Royal Caribbean cruise.

the rest is going into savings.

Most of it is going towards our car insurance. How fun! Then I think the remainder of it went to airline tickets we already bought.

We got a nice refund this year, so we are putting it into a separate bank account to save for a trip to Key West with our friends next year.

Our original plan was to just put it into our 'saving for a house fund', and then 2 weeks later, DH's car needed almost $700 in repairs and then a week after that, my car needed $450 worth of work. So although we still saved some money, we didn't get to save as much as we would have liked.

We haven't fully decided yet. Originally it was going towards the house fund but we are thinking about putting it towards a car instead (jeep cherokee probably). We are planning on TTC in the winter and will need a bigger car. We also plan to start looking for houses next year so I suggested that we buy the car THIS year so we won't have to buy a car, have a baby and buy a house all at the same time. We are still discussing it........
