not until may 1st. I've got seedlings starting inside for now, but even down here in VA, we've got another two weeks until we can be sure we won't have a horrible frost.

In NY, at least mid May.
Rule of thumb is that the danger of frost has to be over. So anywhere from mid-may to memorial day.
I usually start in pots that can be brought inside if it gets too cold at night. Then after frost, I can plant in the ground.

General rule of humb for this area is mothers day, after that is OK, but since you are in CT, maybe 1 week after that.

Take pics!

Re: planting flowers

what are you guys planning on planting this year?

I have seeded some marigolds, herb plants, peppers, and tomatoes. Hopefully my container gardening goes better this year now that I know I need to protect from the gusts on our balcony.

I will!!! We are busy busy with the house. Its sad the old owners let the landscaping go so we have to completely reseed everything and lanscapers are so darn expensive that we are doing everyhing ourselves

I've had a horrible case of poison ivy for like 3 weeks......yuch!

But hopefully things will start to look beautiful!

Re: planting flowers

I'm planting lavendar, rosemary, thyme, basil, parsely, cilantro, tomatoes, zuchini, snap peas, cucumbers and watermelon.

Then gerbera daisys, morning glory, jasmine, 4 o'clock flowers, peonies are going in this year but it will take a few years to flower. I haven't decided on our flower boxes yet, I want a red cascading plant. and I have a few barrels to plant as well.

We are also planting a wildflower cutting garden and on the side of our house a sunflower field with all different sizes and colors of sunflowers!!

We'll see how everything goes!

I wanted to plant strawberries or raspberries but I don't know much about them, maybe next year
