My best friend/BM went into premature labor this weekend, 6 weeks early with her first child. Her water completely broke so they weren't able to stop labor. Mom got 1 dose of steroid to help and mature the baby's lungs faster.
Mom had an emergency c-section yesterday morning to deliver the baby. The baby was thankfully 5 lbs. 4oz. She is in the NICU now and will be for a few weeks. She is having problems with her sucking reflex, blood sugar issues and jaundice but she is breathing on her own.
PLease keep them in your prayers, they are first time parents, living in CO away from all of their families and friends and the hospital the baby is at is 4 hours away from home
