Mine is in my old room in my parents house. Every time I go there I hug the zipped up bag and then peek inside and get all wistful and a litle sad......it's the same way every time.

Mom said she was going to send it to a friend who's a cleaner.....

Mine is still in the closet too, DH has been pushing for me to get it done, I tried it on yesterday - I haven't had the heart to pack it away.

I had my gown hanging on the back of my bedroom door from June 2004 until March 2005 - only because we were moving and my mother took it from me to get it cleaned and preserved and so it wouldn't wind up crumpled up in a box. If we hadn't moved, I bet it would still be hanging there.

Mine is still hanging at my parents house and I got married the day after eroxgirl

Mine's still hanging in my closet. Haven't decided what to do with it. I'd like to donate it, but just haven't found the time to do it.

i just got it dry cleaned and stored in a garment bag. does preserving it in a box really work? what happens to the dress if it's only dry cleaned? i heard it may discolor if not properly cared for. is this true? if yes, how long does it take for the dress to start turning color? i just have absolutely no room for another huge box (which is how they're preserved, right?) which is why i only had it dry cleaned. please let me know what i should do, ladies. tia!

OK, I may be the winner here. Mine is still hanging in my closet (after moving from one house, to IL's house, to my own house) since ...
...June 2003! I don't think it was too dirty, though I'm sure it could use a nice cleaning. One of these days I'll probably get around to it. In fact, a few weeks ago I was VERY close to trying it in my washing machine - I remeber a while ago some other newlywed said she did that and it came out great But, I chickened out.

ETS - Opps, guess I missed Christy - sorry about that. But I'm glad I'm not the only one from 2003!!!

After 6 months of my dress sitting on my couch, my mother finally grabbed it and took it to the cleaners. She then picked it up after it was cleaned and took it to her house in Louisiana because she felt that if she gae it back to me, she'd find it still sitting on the couch in the box! I don't mind though, it is safer in her house than in my apartment.
