Poll for May brides...how was the weather on your day?
Particulary the early part of May (or the first week in May). Rainy? Chilly?

Mine was the 25th of may.. and the weather was BEAUTIFUL.. it was not to hot and not to cold with crystal clear blue skies...It was better than i could have ever wished for!

That is awesome. I wish I could get the end of May for that reason. But I am worried that the first week in May will be yucky (like the past few days have been). I mean, it's possible to get luck and have a nice day but so far what i've seen is that it is generally either rainy or chilly outside! Not what I want for my outdoor picture taking and cocktail hour.

I got married a year ago yesterday (May 11, 2002). It was so beautiful out! Sunny and 72 degrees. We had an outdoor cocktail hour! I couldn't have asked fro a better day! I and my BM's wore strapless dresses and we were fine. The weather is something you can't stress over, so just go with the flow and you'll end up being presently surprised!!

I went to a wedding on May 20 and it was FREEZING (it was 2000). It was unbelievably cold and rainy for May (but we were still able to take some pictures outside (under the gazebo - thank goodness our gowns had wraps!) and we still had a great time.
Trying to plan your wedding based on weather is tough. You never know when there will be a cold spell or a heat wave. Or a thunderstorm...

I got married May 27, 2001. It was supposed to rain, however, it didn't start raining a few minuted before 12 that night. Plus, it wasn't warm enough for the outdoor ceremony I wanted.

We were married on April 28th, 2001 (almost May!) and it was in the low 60's, sunny and very breezy.
I also recall that the year before, when we were looking at reception sites the first weekend in May, it was almost 90º Definately an early hot spell, then it returned to more normal spring temps.
This year it's been much cooler and a delayed spring. We moved into our house last April 26th, and all the spring flowers had bloomed and passed except a few of the Azaleas. This year, almost half way thru May, we're just losing the Rhodedendrens, and the Azaleas are almost ready to bloom.
So early May could be just about anything it seems!
