We did for close to two years, but we didn't move in together until right after we got engaged.

Doug moved into my apartment about a year before we got engaged and we lived together for 2 years before we got married.

I know, it's never a quick post with me

But, it's truly funny how life works!!! DH firmly believed that a couple should live together before they get married, but I thought just the opposite--my family would freak, and I too wanted everything to be new and wonderful when we finally got married. Well, after time, we talked about it and he won me over--plus, it's so expensive to live in the city so we would be able to save some money--we decided on Dec. 1 as a move in date. Unfortunately, in Sept. DH lost his job and had to move back to the UK. We were just dating, weren't engaged or anything. I started looking for a job in London, but wasn't getting anywhere because I needed a work permit. Well, by April we started talking about getting married, but didn't get our acts together until September, when we finally got engaged. We got married in February and I moved to London--so, the short answer would've been No, we didn't live together before we got married, but we had been planning to.

We didn't, officially, although once I moved to NY (we've been together almost 10 years now - DH was always in NY, and I was all over the world/country), we always spent the night with each other, just in one of two apartments. It's so much nicer to be in one place now, although he's working such long hours that I think we see each other less than before we were married!
